Inemuri

A short animation I have created from my trip to Tokyo back in March 2018, showing the exhaustion of the day in the life a Japanese businessman.

The Japanese work such long tiring hours that they often have naps at work, they have a word for this ‘Inemuri’ simplified as ‘sleeping on the job’. It is seen as a sign of a hard worker if they have a quick nap on the desk at work and then keep on going.
